StreamCat OBS Setup

Add StreamCat comment and room-layout browser sources to OBS, test the copied local address and configure OBS control separately.

Connect your chat companion to OBS

Treat display and scene control as separate setup steps. A browser source brings the relevant overlay into the broadcast. Automated scene control requires its own connection settings. Follow this guide to add the chat display, then check size, position and audio in the audience view.

Start the local source service

  1. Open the OBS source controls in StreamCat and start the service (立即启动服务).
  2. Copy the address shown by the application (复制地址). The default port is 7331; the copied address is authoritative.
  3. In OBS, add a Browser source and paste that address.
  4. Set the source width and height to the intended layout or canvas size.
  5. Use the test-comment action (发送测试弹幕) and check the OBS preview.

Use the room-layout address for a designed canvas

Room layouts have local addresses under /scene/{id}. Copy the address for the intended layout. A desktop floating comment window is separate from this audience-facing source. Keep the local source service and StreamCat running.

Connect OBS control only when needed

Browser sources display content. OBS WebSocket controls actions such as scene changes and media operations. Configure the OBS control connection before adding rules that invoke those actions, then test the selected scene and media source.

If the source is empty

  • Check that the local service is running and the copied address is current.
  • Check source dimensions, visibility and the active OBS scene.
  • Send a test comment before diagnosing the platform connection.
  • Verify OBS operations here before adapting the setup to other broadcast clients.
