Getting Started with StreamCat

Install StreamCat, connect a Douyin or Bilibili room, test comments and voice output, then prepare an OBS source and event rules.

Check your live chat setup before broadcasting

Confirm the platform connection, message reception and display position. Check the host's floating chat window separately from the audience view. If speech playback is enabled, confirm its output device and volume. Follow this guide in order for an initial StreamCat setup.

Install and choose the correct connection

  1. Use the official Windows installer and open StreamCat.
  2. For Douyin, enter the live room number or link.
  3. For Bilibili, obtain and enter the Open Platform identity code.
  4. Start the connection and check the status and message feed.
  5. Send an actual room comment to confirm reception.

StreamCat supports connecting to Douyin and Bilibili live rooms at the same time, with each connection managed independently. Available event types differ by platform.

Check what the audience will see and hear

The desktop overlay and OBS output serve different purposes. Add a browser source for audience-facing components and check the OBS preview. Select a voice, audition it and confirm the output device. Avoid capturing the same audio twice.

Test a small set of rules

Enable only the comment, gift and entry rules needed for this stream. Check cooldowns and test each action. Keep the application running while OBS uses its local sources. Other broadcast clients have different source options; the walkthrough here verifies OBS.
